BENTEGO has implemented the Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy as an indicator of its sensitivity to business ethics. Since the issue is a legally punishable act in addition to business ethics, employees are expected to show sensitivity to this issue and to consider it as a part of personal duties and responsibilities independent of working life, otherwise, the DISCIPLINARY REGULATION comes into play.
BENTEGO has adopted the principle of complying with the laws and regulations on bribery and corruption, universal legal rules, and ethical and professional principles in all countries where it operates and is represented. Within the scope of this principle, our company acts with a “zero tolerance” approach against bribery and corruption and undertakes to carry out its activities in a fair, honest, legal, and ethical manner.
At BENTEGO, ethical rules, regulations, procedures, and other arrangements support the conduct of activities in accordance with the law, in an accurate, fair, and honest manner, and a more sensitive attitude is displayed in the fight against bribery and corruption in order to protect the rights of all stakeholders of the Company. The Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery Policy has been implemented as a requirement of the importance attached to this issue.
BENTEGO explicitly prohibits bribery and corruption in its operations in its current and future countries of operation. Persons covered by the Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy are prohibited from offering payments or anything of value or obtaining similar benefits from other organizations and individuals in order to obtain a legal and unethical benefit, even in favor of the Company, or engaging in any illegal and unethical behavior that may be considered bribery or corruption, even if such practices are common in the country or line of business in which the Company operates.
The financial value of the benefit is subject to bribery and corruption or whether anything is done for the other party in return is not important. The Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy is also violated if the value of the benefit is very low or if the commitment made despite the offer has not yet been realized.
BENTEGO protects the legal rights of government agencies, suppliers, customers, employees, and other stakeholders. Accounting transactions are recorded in a complete, accurate, and fair manner, and internal control systems are established to prevent unrecorded transactions.
The basic principles of the Company’s Anti-Corruption Policy are as follows: In compliance with all local laws to which the Company is subject, as well as laws around the world, no bribe or any object of tangible or intangible value is directly or indirectly offered, offered, promised or permitted to any official or employee, institution or private person, or any other person, directly or indirectly, in order to obtain or retain any business or to gain an advantage for the Company, through any behavior or decision.
Bribery is not simply cash in an envelope under the table exchanging hands. International law and policy define bribery as “any object of value”. Examples include gift vouchers, home repairs, theater tickets, a special pass to a private club, a job opportunity for a relative of the client’s employee, a free car service, and many more.
It is a criminal offense to offer bribes even if the payment does not materialize.
BENTEGO requires its suppliers and potential subcontractors to comply with the principles, terms, and standards of the Policy and to develop procedures in accordance with the Policy. In line with this request, no supplier working on behalf of the Company and no employee, consultant, distributor, or business partner called subcontractor may offer or accept bribes.
